A Rooster in the kitchen is said to bring good luck and in some countries, the Rooster symbolizes integrity, honesty and honor. Now you can have this positive signature skillet in the kitchen and it cooks just as good as it looks. The Rooster image is actually cast into the back of the Lodge Cast Iron 12-inch Skillet. This kitchen favorite is a piece of multi-functional cookware that works wonders with slow-cooking recipes and all your favorite foods. This pre-seasoned Skillet works like a charm right out of the box. Pancakes, eggs, and bacon somehow taste extra hearty when cooked in a heavy cast-iron skillet. Cast iron creates superior heat retention, heats evenly, and even loves a campfire, unlike flimsier pans that just cannot handle the heat so keep those cheap pans out of your kitchen and stick with a family cast iron favorite. Fry up a mess of catfish, roast a chicken, or bake an apple crisp in this generous 12-inch pan that features two handles for heavy lifting, and two subtle side lips for pouring. While the skillet comes preseasoned to prevent food from sticking, it works best when sprayed or lightly coated with vegetable oil before use. Whether used in a kitchen or camp, this virtually indestructible pan should last for generations. Cast iron is also works great on Induction Cook Tops as well as gas or electric. Sporting a stylish black color and Rooster design on the pan’s bottom. Cast-iron should be hand-washed with a stiff nylon brush and hot water. Using soap is not recommended, and harsh detergents should never be used.

Good skillet but, I’ve yet to see a lodge skillet with a smooth bottom. Try cooking an egg on something as rough as a rasp. The seasoning of the skillet is good, but I had to sand the bottom smooth & then re-season. To re-season use a very light coat of vegetable oil or lard and bake upside down in oven several hours until the oil forms a hard dry coat. Should be repeated a few times for a really good seasoning. After that it’s a really good skillet.

Careful If you have a ceramic electric cook top don’t buy this product. They bottom as a raised ring the will not allow it to sit flat therefore not heating properly. Should be covered in description but is not
